Past & Future Skiing Trends By Stefano Belingheri

A-Team member Stefano Belingheri of Italy adds his thoughts on past and future trends in High Performance Technical Skiing.

Changes in the Last 5 Years
In Italy certainly the type of ski used for skiing on the track, 5 years ago we used GS skiing, now instead we tend to ski with ski race carve, with radius ranging from 15 to 19 meters.
That’s why skiing has changed, less muscle strength is used and more reliance on skiing makes less effort. In addition, the inclinations have risen and many skiers make bends bringing the body close to the snow!
Possible Changes in the Next 5 Years
I hope there is an evolution on the boot, more comfortable, lighter and warmer. I also think that skiing in the future will be simpler because ski instructor will find simpler and more effective methods!
